Well, I think that if her book is being marketed as "Jess: Girl of the Year", it would be HIGHLY unlikely for her to be an 80s doll. How many girls of the year 2005 go around wearing side ponytails and legwarmers?

Although I do like the idea, and I think it would be fun for them to work an 80's doll somewhere into their line, I don't think it is likely to happen. Maybe they'll make a halloween costume?

The 80's just aren't historical enough. They were less than 20 years ago! Maybe AG only wants to make historicals that are from times further back in history.

Actually, the 80s are farther in the past than that. People born in 1980 will be, if they are not already, 25 this year I was born in 1984 (the MID 80s) and I turned 21 in April. Hard to believe, but the 80s are definitely past. It boggles my mind when I stop and realize that half the kids in high school right now were born in the 90s! Time flies...
